Kayko is a talented singer, songwriter, and producer from Nashville who recently released his new single “Can You Show Me.” Most people will recognize him from his time on American Idol.

Kayko grew up with music from an early age. He started playing the piano at just three years old. He always loved putting on little musical parades around the house when guests visited, letting everyone choose their own instrument to join in. Interestingly, he never took formal lessons for either playing instruments or singing. However, when he was ten, he attended a summer camp where he learned that it’s much easier to play an instrument while singing along. That’s when they discovered he had a beautiful voice and encouraged him to pursue music in the future.

Later, Kayko moved to Nashville and decided that, in addition to being a singer and songwriter, he also wanted to become a producer, so he could create his own songs entirely by himself. He started experimenting with different instruments and melodies. Whenever he created something he liked, he would post covers of songs by other artists on YouTube in his own unique style. With lots of practice and experimentation, he became really good at it.

In 2024, Kayko participated in American Idol. Originally, he was only going to accompany a friend on the piano during her audition, but he ended up auditioning himself after Katy Perry asked if he was the lead singer of the band he had mentioned earlier. They were so impressed that he was invited to the next round. During the show, he became known as “The Accident.”

After Idol, Kayko released several new songs, including his latest single: “Can You Show Me.” He wrote this track in a very fun way, by turning it into a challenge. He had to create a song in the style of the year: 1975, with the theme: being scared to fall in love. The song features a catchy piano melody that easily gets stuck in your head, enhanced by a strong 80s-style drum beat. To top it off, he added some amazing piano sounds. He even included a playful wink to Katy Perry in the lyrics: “We’re screaming old Katy Perry, Last Friday Night.” It’s a super upbeat track that makes you want to dance right away, definitely giving off those summer vibes that people are going to love this season.

A fun fact is that his girlfriend came up with the melody for the song, so she also played a part in creating his latest single. The song is about how hard it can be to fall in love again after a long time, and how he’s slowly letting down his walls he’s built over the years when it comes to love.  As he sings: “I don’t remember how to be in love, be in love.” That makes it even more special that his new girlfriend was involved in the process of creating this new song.

Kayko is set to announce a new tour soon, following the great success of his previous “Time Of Your Life Tour.” You can also expect a lot more new music from the artist in the future, he truly loves writing and producing songs.
