Henry Moodie’s New Single ‘COMEDOWN’ is a Must-Listen
Henry Moodie, the rising artist from Guildford, UK, is known for his emotionally resonant hits like Drunk Text and Pick Up The Phone. Now, he’s back with a brand new single, COMEDOWN, and it's already making waves.
Ahead of its full release, Henry teased the chorus on social media—building anticipation among fans. Then, right at midnight on Friday the 13th of June 2025, he dropped the full track. Alongside the release, he shared a visualizer on YouTube with lyrics that are easy to connect with and incredibly catchy.
Fans got a behind-the-scenes peek into the song’s journey when Henry shared a voice memo of the chorus in his broadcast channel on May 19th. In it, he casually mentioned going through two bags of popcorn that day—classic Henry. Later, he even used ChatGPT to help brainstorm album artwork, giving fans clues about the song’s deeper meaning.
Henry explained:
“The song is about the overwhelming feeling of entering a new relationship that feels fun and exciting, but your gut is telling you it’s not going to last.”
Musically, COMEDOWN blends rock and pop elements. The steady bass drum suggests a longing for stability, while the mellow melody adds a contrasting sense of calm. This mix perfectly reflects the emotional push and pull of wanting love to last, even when doubts start creeping in.
Lyrically, the first verse hits hard. It tells the story of someone being cared for in a relationship. One standout line really stuck with me:
“Darling, you’re my favourite pick me up.” It’s simple but loaded with meaning.
But if I had to choose a favorite part, it’s definitely Verse 3. It captures that yearning to relive the best moments of a relationship—the pure joy of someone’s presence.
"God I wish I had a jetpack, Anyway that we could stay up here, I don’t ever wanna relapse, Life is better with your atmosphere"
It beautifully expresses the desire to hold onto the highs of love, even if the future feels uncertain.
Then there’s the bridge—only four lines, but incredibly powerful:
"I’m not ready, I don’t think I’m ready now, In your gravity, Please don’t pull me down"
These lines perfectly capture the fear of emotional vulnerability and the hope that the relationship doesn’t drag you down before it lifts you up.
In short, COMEDOWN is a total bop. I’ve had it on repeat all day. Henry’s ability to translate complex emotions into relatable lyrics and compelling melodies makes this track unforgettable. It explores the highs and lows of relationships in a way that feels genuine, raw, and honest.
Now I just need to hear it live!
