Lizzy by Maddie Regent is a song set for you to see an unexpected love story in Lizzy’s perspective. If you listen carefully you will understand the meaning and the story behind it.
The first line of the first verse really set the scene. ‘I think I'm a little too deep, darling’ the way she phrases it shows that she’s telling everyone that the person in the story which resembles herself is in love too deep and she can’t get out of it.
The repeated hook shows that she doesn't want her lover to go making plans if you are not passionate or uninspired.
But my favorite line comes near the end: “You waltz around my mind like you own the place.” I think this line shows how the man is still constantly on her mind, almost as if he owns her. It shows how strong her feelings are and how hard it is to forget someone you love.
Overall, the song has such a nice melody and beat, making it really enjoyable to listen to. The lyrics are also easy to understand and something many people can relate to. I think the song perfectly shows what it’s like to be so deeply in love with someone that you just can’t seem to let go.
