Walt Disco turned The Boileroom Guildford into a fever dream — a small room bursting with big, theatrical energy.

Twirling, twisting, and prowling across the stage, they delivered a set that swung between high‑octane chaos and haunting melancholy.

Clad in leather and chunky biker boots, the band looked every bit the art‑rock creatures they are. Deep growling rumbles from the mic cut through the room, followed by sudden bursts of power notes that had the crowd roaring. The lead, although usually without an instrument, even took up a guitar and a bass at various points during the night.

“This is the hometown show for our bassist - we’re not a Scottish band after all,” they joked early on, earning a wave of cheers. And despite the heat, “It’s very hot in here… about to get hotter”, and they pushed the energy higher with each track, the crowd matching them beat for beat.

Down the front, people were throwing wild shapes, dancing like they were possessed. Two guys in particular were going absolutely feral - limbs everywhere, pure joy. When Walt Disco declared, “You’re the sexiest crowd yet,” Guildford screamed back in agreement.

Gold light washed over the singer’s face during a synth‑heavy intro, giving the whole room a cinematic glow. Posters plastered the walls, sweat hung in the air, and the venue felt like it was vibrating.

Then came the curveball.

“I know everyone is really hyper, but we’re going to do a slow one.”

The room fell still. Slow, deep, haunting vocals drifted through the room, eerie and floaty, the kind of track that feels like it’s holding its breath. When it ended, the singer exhaled: “Thank you so much… always a tough one to get through.”

A moment of vulnerability in the middle of the madness.

They followed with new material from their upcoming album All Disco, out in October. “Thank you for being patient - it’s our first time here and we’ll definitely be back.” The crowd didn’t need convincing.

The finale was pure energy. Distortion, thrashing, bodies bouncing, voices hollering.

“Thank you so much Guildford… I needed this so much.”

One last song, gentle at first, deep vibratos and throaty tones, breaking open into a chorus, releasing the energy.

A huge finish. A scream from the crowd. Walt Disco left the stage glowing.
