Grennan 25: High-Energy Hits and Heartfelt Moments at the O2

Just weeks after landing his third UK Number 1 album, Everywhere I Went Led Me to Exactly Where I Didn’t Want to Be, Tom Grennan rolled into London’s O2 Arena and delivered a set that was equal parts stadium spectacle and emotional release. It was a night drenched in heart, sweat, and confetti, everything you’d want from a Saturday at one of the country’s most iconic venues.

Opening the night was Irish singer-songwriter and viral sensation Allie Sherlock, who’s come a long way from busking on the streets of Cork. Her set of reworked covers, including a closing rendition of Set Fire to the Rain, gently eased the growing crowd into the evening. There’s something raw and quietly confident about her delivery, a clear star of the future.

Tom Walker followed, bringing his gravelly vocals and big-hearted energy to the stage. It was the kind of set made for slow sways and full-throated singalongs, with pockets of the crowd visibly emotional, hands clasped, eyes closed, lyrics mouthed by all in the vicinity.

But just after 9, the atmosphere shifted. The lights dropped, the curtain fell, and Full Attention bellowed through a packed arena. A golden drape revealed a full live setup, horns, backing singers, full band, all under the glowing ‘GRENNAN’ sign. There’s a definite touch of old-school showbiz flair, but grounded in Grennan’s unmistakably modern charm.

He hit the ground running, Full Attention into Higher into All These Nights, a triple threat that had the O2 floor bouncing from the off. Within minutes, the first confetti cannon of the night exploded. Classic Grennan: big voice, huge energy, and zero restraint.

Halfway through the set, the energy softened as Grennan paused to dedicate Crown Your Love to his baby daughter. It was a tender, genuine moment that brought the crowd in closer. A reminder that behind the anthems and perfect showmanship is an artist with heart.

The set dipped into his back catalogue of collaborations too. Let’s Go Home Together was a crowd favourite (delivered with stand-in vocalist Angel), before a high-octane run through All Goes Wrong, Lionheart, and By Your Side reminded us that Grennan’s voice thrives in any sonic space, pop, soul, dance you name it.

Later, Diamond stood out as a fan-loved gem from the new album, giving way to the home stretch. Remind Me closed out the main set, all neon glow and movement, before Grennan returned solo for the encore.

I Won’t Miss A Thing was a quiet gut-punch to finish, just piano, voice, and pure sincerity. A soft landing after an energetic hour, and a beautiful tribute to love and loss that had the whole arena in collective reflection.

Tom Grennan at the O2 was a celebration in every sense. A slick blend of arms-in-the-air anthems and moments of real vulnerability, all delivered with the kind of energy that reminds you why live music still hits harder than anything else.
